Summer time memories

The summer sun is scorching at 105°F, while the flowers are in full bloom. It’s a perfect time to take a vacation, travel and explore various things such as swimming, surfing, camping, picnicking, cruising, bicycling or just take a long walk. 

In Sri Lanka, the famous Nallur Festival is in full swing. It brings backs an unforgettable childhood memories of hoping from one bangle stall to another with my mother to buy numerous colorful bangles, and necklaces. We used to take a long stroll around the streets of Nallur under the sun, and on the way home, we would buy numerous bags full of hot hot freshly roasted peanuts mixed with corns. This 25 days long colorful annual festival continues to attract many devotees from all over Sri Lanka, and overseas, who travel from afar and near.
